You sure about that? People I’ve talked to have 1973 in the system as the lead unitAndy24 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 30, 2024 4:16 pmI did get L303-30 today and they had some gondolas. CSX 1973 will probably go on M511-30 or M268-30
I recorded the entire L302 Job Briefing. “RN Dispatcher said L302-30 with CSX 7 2 2 0 over”. I also shared my recording of L302-30 with static parts to some buddies for confirmationMQT1223 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 30, 2024 4:38 pmYou sure about that? I guess we are sh!t out of luck. Once again the Plymouth and Grand Rapids subs are on the short end of the Heritage unit stick.
This is not making me happy either, I’d love to find that number with you
The GR Sub does ok, the Plymouth Sub not so much.MuskegonRailfanning wrote: ↑Sun Jun 30, 2024 5:10 pmThis is not making me happy either, I’d love to find that number with you
It wouldn’t matter since teens are out of school for the summer.MQT1223 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 30, 2024 5:55 pmThe GR Sub does ok, the Plymouth Sub not so much.MuskegonRailfanning wrote: ↑Sun Jun 30, 2024 5:10 pmThis is not making me happy either, I’d love to find that number with you
It would get here in the dark anyway, well past your bedtime.

L302-30 between 17:00/18:00 has departed Rougemere Yard with CSX #7220 + CSX #902 with 120 cars (78? loads and 42? empties) @ 9,660 tons and 6,028 ft long. He will be stopping in Lansing to work (Note: I am only able to hear Dispatcher’s side of the conversation. Dispatcher said “watch for the signal”Andy24 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 30, 2024 4:16 pmL302-30 @ 16:20 Rougemere Yard Job Briefing in Detroit with RN Dispatcher: CSX #7220 + CSX #902 with 98(?) cars (68 loads and 30 empties) @ 9,660 tons and 6,028 ft long. That was R598-30 with BNSF engine #8437 & 130 empty coal cars & rear dpu BNSF engine #9386 & CSX engines #3133 + #846. He had taken Grand Jct siding mp CG54 & tied down.
I think your count is more accurate than what I heard during L302’s job briefing. I thought I heard 68 loads by 32 empties, which only equals 100 cars. It could have been 88 loads by 32 empties. Towards the front of the train was an impressive cut of MOW equipment, lots of machinery hauled on flat cars. CSXT 483385 was in the consist along with two MWAX covered hoppers.
They picked up the MoW equipment in East Yard in Plymouth. Took about 2 hours to make the pickup.amessmann wrote: ↑Sun Jun 30, 2024 9:51 pm21:47 - L302-30 west thru Brighton with 7220 and 902 leading 120 cars (492 axles). If my math is correct they spent around 4 hours in Plymouth.

I wanted to confirm this but counted 120 in my video as well. I did not remember seeing any 8-axle cars in the consist, only some very long flat cars in addition to boxcars with human-sized doors inlaid on the side.pudgy wrote: ↑Sun Jun 30, 2024 10:25 pmThey picked up the MoW equipment in East Yard in Plymouth. They have 114 cars before setting off in Williamston and Lansing. (MoW cars (16) get set off in Williamston) Some of the MoW cars are 8 axle.
29 cars for Lansing.
It sounds like your count was correct, Andy. There were exactly 20 cars in the MoW block, between the weird boxcars, a few gons, and the flat cars. Given they had picked those up at Plymouth, it makes sense that they had left Detroit with/stated on their briefing as having 100 cars.
