New Changes to Road Freights in Other States

Unread post by Andy24 »

Per Deshler Chat, sounds like more changes are happening with other main road freights.

My question or comment is, who is handling all of the traffic at Garrett to Barr / Barr to Garrett now? Would it be a local between the 2 yards? Or M567-M569 handles the Garrett to Barr traffic?

A better question is what train is taking all of the 368/369 traffic to and from Clearing.

368 is still running, and is not the train pair for 369.

Enlighten us, then.

M370 is the pair to 369, and is still running out of the BRC. M367 is the pair to 368.

I’m quite frankly fascinated with Florida’s changes, there’s a lot of them, one is definitely a head scratcher.

M457- Originally Waycross to Taft (Orlando) is now Baldwin to Taft, combined with M441 (more on that later).
M456 has been re-instated, Taft to Baldwin, traffic originally went to Baldwin on M208 then was swapped onto other trains. But business must be back enough to warrant a whole ‘nother road freight. M208 will now be a solid autorack train after this change.

M457 and M441 (originally Waycross to Yeomam Yard in Tampa) are combined from Waycross to Baldwin. 441 will originate out of Baldwin for Tampa.

Here’s where it gets interesting:

Not surprisingly, M452 and M453 are now scaled back as a Winston to Waycross train pair. Which means, for god knows how many times at this point, M603 and M604 are abolished from Winston - Waycross. That train pair for some reason can never seem to be run consistently, they have been abolished and reinstated over half a dozen times within the last 5-10 years. This may be the final nail in the coffin. Since 452/453 normally had always ran to or left Miami with under 5k feet of train, and they pick up and drop off traffic in Winston, 452 has plenty of room for 604’s cut. BUT 603 was consistently running upwards of 8-10k feet before it was abolished. If 453 gets too big, I think they may bring just 603 back and keep 604’s traffic on the 452.

It’s honestly really intriguing with these changes and will be interesting to see any new ones.

I am not sure how recent this change was or was ever changed was:
M209 (Wayne, Mi) to Baldwin Yard, FL
M209 (Wayne, Mi) to Osborn Yard, KY with M211 from Osborn Yard, KY to Baldwin Yard, FL

In Florida...

L792/793 replaced 452/453 past Winston.

L729 and L743 also run to/from Winston. Both work Baldwin and Wildwood.
