Now this power should sit until Thursday when the next 327 runs correct?

L302-13 sat in Brighton for nearly two and half hours waiting for L305 to get there. L305 wound up never getting beyond Fowlerville. 302 finally got by Howell at 19:52 with over 100 cars and returning power from yesterday's L303. Right behind L302 was a G077-12 grain empty with 747 & 928 on the head end and 89 cars but may have slipped up on the car count. Both L302 & G077 had to run through the siding at Fowlerville. L302 will bypass their Lansing work. Never heard where G07712 was going. Last I knew, L304 will be recrewing L305 in the night again tonight.

21:19 - L302-13 west thru Okemos Rd. CH 81 with 110 cars (452 axles) behind elephant-style 542 and 5362. CSXT 483385 in the mix.
Looks like G077-12 will be following them thru East Lansing.
L304 had passed the Okemos DD early this morning, but from my new location I can only hear the "first stage", no second stage/axle count.
21:36 - G077-12 west thru Okemos Rd. CH 81 with 90 cars (372 axles) behind 747 and 928

Regarding the DD, at Green Oak, if I do get a first stage, it is always of less quality than the second stage. I wonder if each "stage" has a transmit power setting that can be changed.

I’ve noticed this as well at Green Oak. I notice the difference in sound and on the visual s-meter of my fixed ham radio, which is what I use to listen to the DD and other radio traffic when I’m home.

I always assumed the passing train causes RFI or other unintentional changes to the transmitter’s RF radiation pattern because of the large amounts of conductive material in the passing train.

It's more likely the transit power degrades the longer it's "keyed up". Even the dispatcher and locomotive radios have time out features so they don't burn up the transmitters. Could also just be catching some interference that degrades the perceived power and signal strength...

L302-13 @ 23:27 westward clear Breton Rd into Grand Rapids.
Looks like they are getting held at Seymour for Amtrak P370, visually slowing down to nearly a stop. There’s a lot of hoppers and a lot of tank cars on the consist.

Only 1 GRE car in the train this time. The rest of what I'm guessing you thought were GRE cars were potash for LSRC handoff. Roughly half of the train was for MQT in their various customer cars.

Did the ice cream place change names? I thought it was called the Tippy Cow...

M327 is sitting just out of Wyoming Yard, both engines on the head end, 1972 is in the lead.

There’s an empty coil car behind both of the engines
