CN Train Location Updates Sept 2024

13:45-59 - NB GLC with 391/382/386 thru from Pitt Junction to Durand Yard with a loaded soybean train from NS/AARR in Osmer. Train is for ZFS Ithaca. This would be their sixth (?) so far and third from NS/AARR with the other three coming from CN.

13:52 - EB M302 with CN 3201 up front and mid DPU CN 3943 by the Charlotte cam

A long mixed freight with no autos or stacks and mostly tanks cars and covered hoppers went NB through Ferndale at 8:45pm. It was too dark to see numbers but was CN x 2 elephant style.

I could be wrong though but I did not see any reports of e251 today.

Correct. It was indeed 251, couldn’t report due to cellular issues (we love verizon)

Yes, 251 seems to be running a few hours later recently, yesterday included. And there seems to be a slow order or track work somewhere between Birmingham and Bloomfield Hills by the way the SB's start applying some brake out back at MP 22.5. And no, I did not see 116 go by yesterday either that I recall and I was working in the yard all afternoon.

LansingRailfan! How did CN (ex CitiRail) ES44AC #2755 make it that far west the next day after it was on the Mount Clemens Sub.? I saw 382 on Monday with two ex Citi Rail® units, #2791/2755! That was a great catch! I did not think 2755 had P.T.C. to lead a train, since 383 was turned and 2791 led both times. Please explain. My post below is from Monday's (9-2) train 382!!!!

Yup, got northbound train 382 today, Labor Day!!!! Photographed it at the 13 Mile crossing with ex Citi Rail® ES44ACs #2791/2755, 12:48 p.m. with 98 cars! OK, I previously saw 2755 on Father's Day 2023 on train 385 in Mt. Clemens. The "CitiRail" name is still visible (black line through name) and spray painted black "CN" and numbers!!!!! This was my first time seeing two ex Citi Rail® engines on one train!!!!
