Well, shucks! It was the so called "Bumper Post" at Lear® Corporation, Farwell, MI! Did GLC move it by rail? Any photos? Did it just roll along? Luckily I captured this last on August 23, 2019 on a good trip with "Mazon!!!!" The business allowed us to walk back there and photograph! Glad I did and that it still is in Tuscola & Saginaw Bay Railway® colors!!!!! This is the last of a kind and an original TSBY engine from when they started in Michigan's Thumb in 1977! Now I saw this engine a few times since May 2000 Durand Railroad Days. The excursion picked it and a Chesaning Central & Owosso® Alco® switcher to take back to Owosso after display! I also have seen TSBY 1977 parked a few times at Owosso and lastly at Farwell! What are the plans for it? Hopefully it will be restored and/or used again! It won't be scrapped, right? COOL!!!!

I don't know exactly what is wrong dalek ling. I read that it likely has not run since 2005! TSBY/GLC has been storing it for years! They don't need this switcher. Too bad! Now, here is a photo link showing TSBY 1977 at Owosso in April 2007 explaining some:

I don't know exactly what is wrong dalek ling. I read that it likely has not run since 2005! TSBY/GLC has been storing it for years! They don't need this switcher. Too bad! Now, here is a photo link showing TSBY 1977 at Owosso in April 2007 explaining some:

As for operations, rumor is it’s being leased to Rhetek in Whittemore Lake, and the most far fetched one is that it’s going to Lorain Ohio

Someone said on another board that it was going to Webtec Inc. in Houston, Texas, for complete re-wire and a Dash 3 locker. The shop crew in Cadillac was getting it ready for inter-change. The conductor on the road job was attacked by an angry mob of hornets while coupling to the road power when it was moved for the first time from Lear in Farwell.

Whatever you do, do not open old signal boxes on rail trails! I found out the hard way while biking the Falling Waters Trail near Spring Arbor many years ago...

OK, where is TSBY 1977 actually going? Ohio, Texas or Michigan. MAN!!!! It would be nice if it stayed local! S.R.I. should have gotten this switcher instead of the other one! Good it will be used, but sad it will lose its TSBY colors!!!!

As you all probably know, this locomotive was one of the two original TSBY locomotives, the other one being an ex-Rutland Alco RS-1 with a chopped nose that I think is at Coopersville & Marne Ry. This was when TSBY just ran the ex-PC trackage in the Thumb out of Vassar depot. It was originally painted yellow and black,like the RS-1, as those were the colors of the President's college (Purdue?). The NW2 I think was an ex-Union Pacific. It never got used too much after TSYB expanded to run the former Ann Arbor and Michigan Northern trackage though I have shots of it being rebuilt in the former AA backshop in Owosso in the early 1980's. Not many NW2's around any more, running or not.

I’ve heard 1977 is getting a thorough mechanical assessment at Owosso shops as the desire is to make better use of the resources already on the railroad if feasible. As was said, NW2s are pretty rare these days and it would be neat to have one operating here if it makes sense to do so. Seems like the new general manager at GLC has some good ideas.

Did anyone catch any photos of 1977 on the move to Owosso? They could just keep the 1977 in TSBY colors and now they’ve solved their heritage unit plan, too!
