GLC through Fife Lake
GLC through Fife Lake
The GLC came north through Fife Lake today. They had two plastics hoppers and six tank cars. They dropped the tanks in Kalkaska. I heard them go south a couple of hours later so they must have dropped the hoppers in Mancelona. Here is a short video of them going through South Boardman.

I forgot to turn the volume down before I watched it! Almost came out of my seat. Good thing my desk top is still down or the stereo would've killed me.

I believe most of the line from Cadillac to Petoskey is 30 mph. Not sure about the TC branch, but I know there are some rough spots (especially between TC and Acme).Charles W wrote:wow. nice video!! looks like they really move through there. looks like they were going at least * mph!

"Remember, 4 mph is a couple, 5's a collision!"

Thanks Kyle. Like everyone else I noticed the looonnng horn too . The 6 tank cars are filled with leatchete in Kalkaska.
PatC created a monster, 'cause nobody wants to see Don Simon no more they want AARR I'm chopped liver, well if you want AARR this is what I'll give ya, bad humor mixed with irrelevant info that'll make you roll your eyes quicker than a ~Z~ banhammer...
Re: GLC through Fife Lake
Glad you enjoyed the video. I could be wrong but I think the speed limit on this stretch is 40mph. There is another grade crossing just past the one I stopped at, hense the horn blowing.

Thanks Kyle
Re: GLC through Fife Lake
Hey Don,
Do you know what they use the leatchete for? I've never heard of it.

Re: GLC through Fife Lake
The leachate was loaded in Kalkaska from a local landfill. It was shipped downstate for treatment. The last time I "worked' up that way the cars were inbound petroleum product. Gotta look to see if it's placarded and for what if they are. I don't believe the leachate was placarded.
