Re: Spring Meet
I propose I take a 30 foot 5th wheel with my truck to Deshler, then slowly progress to Rochelle!
Re: Spring Meet
Nope. Well...maybe...cnw8835 wrote:LOL. Not going to elaborate more than that?! hahahaJ T wrote:Sounds good to me. I've never been to Rochelle and I would prefer to stay out of Ohio as much as possible.
Even if I am not driving, I still prefer to stay out of that state.railroadfan wrote:I think JT would be good to go if he didn't drive to Ohio, but as we know, JT must drive everywhere.

Driving "there" fast was my problem.

I also prefer to avoid Ohio as much as possible. Their speed laws (and enforcement of same laws) are far too restrictive for my tastes.J T wrote:Sounds good to me. I've never been to Rochelle and I would prefer to stay out of Ohio as much as possible.

Re: Spring Meet
whenever i go south I take 69 thru Indiana rather than Ohio. No reason other than I hate buckeyes.

Re: Spring Meet
Idon't like Indiana, they have Mustang GTs on the turn pike. You don't know what it is until they light you up.
Re: Spring Meet
Have never seen one, but then I do 65 on cruise control

Re: Spring Meet
I will cruise 74. If a trucker calls out a bear I'll drop it down to 70mph. I dont mess around in Ohio though. They are animals.

Re: Spring Meet
Haven't seen one of them yet. Mostly I see Crown Vics (eh, Police Interceptors) on the Toll Road. I did see a bunch of motorcycle cops between Waterloo (Butler exit) and Ft. Wayne last time I was down that way though. Talk about not being able to see 'em before they see you... Too bad OSHA won't outlaw motorcycles for law enforcement use.Mike Tabone wrote:Idon't like Indiana, they have Mustang GTs on the turn pike. You don't know what it is until they light you up.

Re: Spring Meet

CSX: CSX runs mostly manifest freights through here, but intermodals are also frequent. If you visit on a Sunday you can usually catch Q345, which interchanges grain cars with the I&O.
Not trying to sidetrack again and out of curiousity, but when did a Q345 do switching in Hamler? I have been fanning the Deshler area for years and never heard of such a train in the area.
BTW I vote for Deshler

That info is from a post on another forum and Y@ posted that almost two years ago. So... I'm guessing that it may have changed. I just posted it because someone asked what else was there to see near Deshler.
