Train Festival 2009: Update

Unread post by BerkshireKid »

If I were a railfan i'd pay close attention to the http://www.trainfestival2009.com site tomorrow 3-24-08 for an update.
Might also keep an eye on TO or TrainsNews Wire. Should be a pretty, lets say, interesting anouncement.

I wonder if this has anything to do with a cetain loco I heard about. Maybe one that doesn't seem like it would be in the right place?

Wow...I know where I WON'T be on that date. You'll need hip waders to keep all the foam off of you...

This is pretty amazing! And the wonderful part is that we can enjoy this in our own state. Last time I saw 4449 was on its way to Railfair in California in 1999. It really is a beautiful loco. I suspect it will travel across the BNSF, and have the 261's trainset to come with it. Quite an amazing job the boys in Owosso are doing :) Good stuff!

No more big ones unless a miracle happens. 3985 to big for our facilities, 261 won't be back from it 1472 yet, 6325 needs running gear work and 1601 needs well, alot!!!

Hey Dane, I think TJ and everyone else was exaggerating the 30,000. Expect a hell of a lot more since the 4449 is coming. Way to go SRI!!!!

I'm hearing that most equipment is mentioned that it's coming into Owosso 2 weeks prior to the train festival...1225 is getting a new coat of paint, and the tender is being repainted as well.
The FP-7 #6133 diesel from the Historic Spencer Shops, Spencer, NC is coming in via Toledo the first week in July.

Also heard this as of this past Sunday: TJ ended by saying to watch the railfan chat web sites for some announcements in a couple days.

Dane, I wanted so much to say something like "Quit trying to scare the daylights out of us but that might have given it away!"
