In my post on Tuesday, I had intened to mentioning a west olive eastern load, N907-08 was on the docket, coming through Ohio somewhere. When it was by a 0645 today with CSX 936-67 for power, it reminded me. Surprise was, was not seeing a thing of it mentioned anywhere on todays train Line Up. Perhaps the train is sitting dead somewhere between Howell and Grand Rapids.

Bob, I've mentioned this a number of times, but I'll restate.. The "train lineup" i get is me plugging in a symbol and date, such as q32713, or n90707, or n90708, or n90309, shake my magic 8-ball, and it'll tell me if one is coming... for lots of those oddballs like N907, i just don't have the time to search every symbol every day... Those with mainframe access have got it good, so please let us know whenever you see something "on the docket." It's very helpful for those trains that aren't daily or at least weekly.

Ah yes, the "AWTS" board. Stands for Auxiliary Work and Training Status. When the cuts first happened, this is where everyone went, until they decided to put a cap on the board, and cut THAT board down too! Everyone then goes to the FURLOUGH board. Out of the dozens of guys furloughed in Villa Grove, there are three on the AWTS board. Supposed to be five, but two of the guys opted to put themselves on the cutoff board.

AWTS guys have to be able to cover 2 days a week. They have set days so they "know" when they have a .01% chance of working. So, whether they work or not, they get paid for four days a half. The guys that have opted for the cutoff board have done so for other "benefits"...ie not having to worry about going to work, and getting a better paycheck from the state.

When the extra board is exhausted, we have two conductors on a "supplemental board". They are two of the highest-seniority conductors and sit and collector their pay and only work when they are needed. As of late, they have been working quite regularly...still the guys on the AWTS board haven't seen the sun in months...

I understand perfectly Zach, and is the reason why I had every intention of posting and letting you know I knew it was coming by mid afternoon on Tuesday, but forgot. What I meant in my last, that I was surprised no one else had seen and reported the train yet, for you to it get on earlier line ups.

D708 only had five cars going east to South Lyon again to pick up one lumber empty and is already coming back west behind Q327-13. RN just told a signal maintainer at Fowlerville, fixing a track light that was on that he had four trains converging on him. Must be K356 and X500 heading east, and Q327 and D708 heading west. None the less, you don't hear that often anymore in these parts.

Looks like the GRE made a round trip to Amway and back. I can't tell if they delivered to Lowell but the outbound is all Amway.

Wind is out of the east - sounds like MQT NB about Turner at 5:00pm
