Actually the line went from Fremont to White Cloud, but that section was torn up and converted to an off roading trialChrisracer8903 wrote:Well...now we all know what paint scheme the rest of the geeps will be painted in.
Maybe now they could connect with the Michigan Shore between Freemont and Newaygo so they don't need to compete with the sand businesses.

Who really owns Marquette now?
Isn't RA part of G&W now?
Wouldn't G&W consolidate all Michigan operations under one railroad entity?

Almost part of G&W, not quite. They (RA and G&W) did file with STB to speed up the process.j32885 wrote:Who really owns Marquette now?

Not necessarily for G&W to consolidate properties. Look at Dothan, AL - four different G&W railroads and each has it's own identity. I'm curious to see (other than painted locos and different locos) what changes the G&W takeover will bring. Only time will tell.

I don't think you'll see them consolidate anything around here. HESR will stay HESR, MMRR will stay MMRR, MQT MQT, ect.

Consolidate the upper management for the lines into probably one General Manager with a couple AGMs. Each line will keep it's identity and run by itself.

Dok, I heard on various blogs and websites that G&W is buying out CP and the CSX line from Detroit to GR to Chicago, thereby connecting all their Michigan properties, and giving CP its own route to Chitown. Also that they will then get rid of all the old CSX curmudgeons that refuse to believe everything they read on the Internet!
