I took a drive by the cadillac yard today. There were about 15 of the AOK hoppers waiting to haul sand. I kind of like the look of the old patched up hoppers. Most still had the Chicago North Western logos visible.

Which now has a lot of old box cars, some equipment cars belonging to Mears, and three cabooses stored at the old scrap yard.NWRail wrote:Don, you are probably thinking about the DTI double door box cars stored in North Yard in Cadillac.
Most all of the reefers were cut up in Clare (Farwell, actually) at the now-closed scrap yard on the old C&O.
