The GLC must have headed north through Mt. Pleasant around midnight. Media, including M-Live, are reporting that "someone on a train" spotted the suspect in the CMU shooting around midnight.
The suspect is in custody.

Re: GLC Updates March 2018
A final press release stated that the railroad crew saw the suspect standing near the tracks near the north side of town. They reported it and the suspect was in custody a few minutes later.

"WHO LET THE DOGS OUT"AANscaleRunner wrote:Let the dogs out tonight shortly before 2100 and heard horns coming from Selma Yard. Southbound out of Cadillac at 2120. Guessing the Owosso-Clare turn came up this evening with a fresh crew and a quick turnaround.

Took a drive past Selma Yard this morning, 64 brand new shiny sand hoppers were brought in Friday evening. All HWCX reporting marks.
Also 6 loaded pulpwood flats ready to go and more logs waiting for cars.

Looks like they're stocking up on cars before any loads go out. That's 105 cars so far!AANscaleRunner wrote:Took a drive past Selma Yard this morning, 64 brand new shiny sand hoppers were brought in Friday evening. All HWCX reporting marks.

Returned to Cadillac at 1505. Proceeded to uncouple and the 3 locos headed to Yuma. The long string of hoppers that were brought in Friday evening were taken to Yuma yesterday morning.

Re: GLC Updates March 2018
They really move fast out there! It looks to me like they're making unit trains (that I suppose run Yuma-Owosso) and running them separate from the other turn trains.AANscaleRunner wrote:At 1730 today, this train crossed M-115 into Cadillac.

EDIT: Looking at the CSTN train today, nevermind.

390, 392 and 397 left Cadillac for Clare at 1040 with 5 wood chip hoppers, 14 tie loads, 7 tanks and I counted 33 sand hoppers although it may have been 34. Someone was talking to me at the time.

How does the Yuma sand plant move the hoppers around after the train crews leave?AANscaleRunner wrote: I counted 33 sand hoppers although it may have been 34.
Re: GLC Updates March 2018
They use a large front end loader. I watched them move 9 hoppers at once back in 2013. And I mean a HUGE front end loader.Pixl wrote:How does the Yuma sand plant move the hoppers around after the train crews leave?AANscaleRunner wrote: I counted 33 sand hoppers although it may have been 34.
Also, unrelated, there are now 2 center beam loads and 3 DJJX gons for Traverse City. Also those 24 hoppers/AA boxcars at Walton Jct for Traverse City.

Re: GLC Updates March 2018
399 and 398 return to Cadillac at 1700 with 2 covered hoppers (most likely from McBain), 3 tie loads, 1 cement or sand hopper, around 18 tie loads, 2 empty pulpwood flats, 1 pole load, 2 tanks, 1 boxcar and 4 tanks. Box is probably for the feed facility.
Re: GLC Updates March 2018
GLC hi rail was in TC today to the end of the Williamsburg branch and to Beacon on the Grawn branch. Beacon dirt road crossing is salted on the siding and the main, and dirt dug out of flangeways. Only 3 hoppers left at Beacon. Expect a near record size train in TC Thursday. Pixl, your assignment is to wait along Keystone Road by 10:30 am so you can get.vidro, lol.AANscaleRunner wrote:399 and 398 return to Cadillac at 1700 with 2 covered hoppers (most likely from McBain), 3 tie loads, 1 cement or sand hopper, around 18 tie loads, 2 empty pulpwood flats, 1 pole load, 2 tanks, 1 boxcar and 4 tanks.
