I agree with BDG. I it isn't Grand Haven Northport was going to be my next guess.

BDG you are correct.

The Leelanau Transit Company was a short line standard gauge railroad incorporated in 1919 as the successor to the Traverse City, Leelanau, and Manistique Railroad, which was incorporated in 1901 to build a line from Traverse City, Michigan to Northport, Michigan in order to support a carferry service to Manistique on the Upper Peninsula.

Ferry service began in 1903 but was suspended in 1908 following the foreclosure sale of the line the previous year, never to resume

I thought it might be the old state hospital which received coal by rail once upon a time. I'll have to give it more thought :?

I think we are talking about the same place AARR, the old Eloise Psychiatric Hospital, but I believe it is in Westland not Dearborn.

It's in Westland? I thought it was Dearborn :oops: But yes, I agree with you that we are talking about the same place.
