Just heard a moment ago the CSX #3198 is dead in tow & the NS #7266 was confirmed to be a good leader. Wondering if the CSX #3198 will be heading to Peaker's Locomotive Company?

Why would it go there? It'll go to the nearest CSX shop if there's something wrong with it.

I have no idea to what extent the nearest CSX shop does, nor, if it offers the same services Peaker's has or is there something with the PTC equipment Peaker's handles? Has me wondering why they brought a dead in tow engine all the way to Grand Rapids? Maybe, the CSX #3198 failed en-route & they came up with the NS engine so that Q326 could make it to Grand Rapids?

Peaker is for heavy repair/modifications that the railroads farm out to 3rd parties, like installing the DPU equipment into locomotives. Most repairs on CSX-owned locomotives are done at CSX shops. As for why they sent out a dead in tow locomotive...they do that all the time. Easier to say "here take this and go" than setting it out, most of the time.
