All three of the CM B units are the same, they are all B30-7A1(B)'s vents are the same.

Kalmbach Books, from Louis A Marre and Jerry A. Pinkepank, coppyright 1989 second printing 1990.
And I quote
"BN 4083, from the final group, has the equipment blower mounted at the opposite end of the prime mover from the radiators, akin to the Southern's B30-7A1's. Note also the dynamic brake grids atop the blower openings (on the opposite side of the unit, two square openings appear in this box). BN announced it was cuting GE out of its 1984 powwer order because it was dissatisfied with GE follow-up on service after early troubles with this group. The locomotives were subsequently reworked at Erie and have preformed acceptably."
Hence a B30-7A1(B)
Altough every one refers to them as a B30-7A(B), they are indeed techenally a B30-7A1(B), using the same configuration as the B30-7A1's.

Model Railroading
Thankyou for a Model railroading site, as I am just getting back into
it after 20 years of not doing anything. Was not going back into N Scale, but was given a 22 X 8 foot layout last summer, with all everything.
The person who owned it pass on in May of 1986, and his wife Nov 04.
The Kids didn't want to just throw it out so now I have it along with over
1000 cars, 45 diesels and 10 steam loco's and a ton of new never been used items. Dick was a dealer, so much is still in new boxes, although 20 years old. And of course when something does not run for 20 plus years,
Well I have a lot to do to get it running. However I am only able to use about 1/2 of the layout do to limits in the basement. (Michigan Style)
Lots to give away as time goes by. Oh and I am still building from my old open grid style 2 track N a single track HO scale Layout.
Thanks Zack....my wife an I have started building towards
putting together a nice 4x4, but you know once one starts
buying engines and cars....an gets onto them model rail

cars, along with some nice Soo Line coal cars, and also some
ore cars as well...it just keeps growing, I like to have variety
