CSX MI Train Location Update 5-21-09
D700-20 running long, lone unit CSX 6083. They are picking up the Waverly engine to go south (railroad west), then dropping it back off in Waverly on the return trip. So, he should be running long hood forward from Holland to GR, in some decent light if they don't get done too quick...

Wow, Mr Tops didn't go to bed last night . 1 lonely bulkhead for CSX at the GRE, 371 will have the usual 1+3. That's it, no early update tomorrow, 7th Friday in a row, either all day or 1/2 day off

Q326 heading into Holland 9:31 AM...
Re: CSX MI Train Location Update 5-21-09
A few notes and additions, N903-20 is dead at Sawyer with the crossing cut. X500-20 is dead at Kirk.
That E949-18 was a whopping 8300+' with 150 empties! Q327 just ahead of him was over 7200' as well. They had a bit of a jam up at Kirk overnight, with Q326 in the siding, D700 working an industry on the single track at Coloma, Q327 holding the main at Kirk and E949 on the single track behind him. I hope nobody on those dead-end roads near Kirk needed to get out, as I'm sure they were blocked for awhile...they really need to get those autoracks out of Gross. Seems like they're always holding trains forever with no sidings to meet trains (many times Grand Jct and Wells have coal trains for West Olive)

Re: CSX MI Train Location Update 5-21-09
Well here is a Plymouth Update. I missed Q334. Have no clue but he must have taken off before I got there. Any case, CSXT 6117 is the unit for Y107, they went to Plastipak and did a P/D, and came back, then went to east yard and picked up another caboose, I got a good Video of them at Holbrook with 6117 and the 2 cabs. Then D717 just left with CSXT 6449 leading the Slug, and CSXT 2509 off for her 90 day FRA. 35 cars, mostly Dirty Dirt Gons, although there was a good mix of cars.

Re: CSX MI Train Location Update 5-21-09
Y107 with the CSXT 6117 picked up 5 covered hoppers from Plasti-Pak, they went north over the diamond, then shoved their train down into North Yard. They picked up another Chessie Cab and brought both of them around the SE wye, then shoved back over the Plymouth Sub. on Long 1 and into the yard at 10:30AM.
D717 should have the GP30 slug leading later today on their journey westbound back from Rougemere to Plymouth. As James said, they had the 6449, 2256, and 2509, all in CSX 7 paint. My count was only 33 cars, but regardless, a decent sized train given the state of the economy. Anyone know if they're going to North (Conrail) Yard today, or just the short Plymouth-Rouge-Plymouth jaunt? They left Plymouth eastbound at 10:40AM. My slug was not leading but I did get a couple ok shots, so if it disappears again, at least I have something.
We had an unexpected N849 DEEX coal drag go northbound at 11:20 behind CSXT 4781 and 7855. My count was 127 loads, but I may have been off by one or two.
Late running Q334 was the last to appear during this mini-morning parade. Today's was a rather short train, with CSX 503 and Zack's favorite 8070 leading, with only 42 cars. If not for the very healthy supply of scrap loads in consist, I'd guess there would have only been 12-15 cars for the train today! YAY SCRAP! They were rounding the SW wye at 11:35AM.
Nice to see you guys out there.

I really hope they won't have 2509 leading back. No one told me about THAT engine.GP30M4216 wrote:they had the 6449, 2256, and 2509

Re: CSX MI Train Location Update 5-21-09
Yes MAC, someone mentioned the 2509, and it's likely staying at Rougemere since they don't do quarterly inspections at Plymouth, so the slug should be leading westward. Plus, the 2509 would be leading long hood forward if it were to be used on D717, so that's unlikely too.

Re: CSX MI Train Location Update 5-21-09
James im sorry man but you have become the biggest EPIC on here...where did you get that you missed Q334? If you had a scanner you would have known he was sitting just south of Wayne waiting to get across at Romulus and he just knocked down Sibley 5 minutes ago...so FAIL for no scanner and FAIL for once again guessing! Chris is really moving up the list
Just curious if you actually heard the crew or yardmaster say that the 2509 was due for its 90 days? As of last night the unit was tagged as a B/O not a 90 days...if so thats three FAILS! the defect is minor and it is possible as it has been in the last few weeks to have it fixed while the train heads to North Yard and then picks it up and brings it back to Plymouth. More likely it will go out on Q399 tonight.
Another note is that D717 had been running with three geeps for about a week. They were running with this before the slug set came into town.
D717 has a pile of work today and is currently making his moves with his s/o at Rougemere from Plymouth. More then likely he will be after 1630..."normal" is 1800-1830 with a full day of work..but the next few weeks will be shorter workloads with less auto traffic on him
D717 is going to North Yard today...and yes 717 shows 33 cars leaving..so im guessing that count would be right
The coal train shows two different counts so i guess that will remain a mystery for now...
Nobody asked about the 2509
And Nate-717 has been running long hood forward at least once a week and sometimes more before the slug set came down..I have pics of it with the 6117 and another YN3 GP38-2...every since they started the 717 its been a good train to catch running "backwards"..
I think that answers most of that?

The Z train crew was supposedly dead headed to Ludington last night to pick up the train. With that extra time, I can see why they only made it to Sparta. I'd look for the daytime crew to be on around 2p.
