Trainfestival 2009 Picture thread(post all pics/videos here)

Unread post by mikekmac »

Admin edit: Creating a thread for all of those that want to include their pictures and videos so we have a nice collection of everything in one place. Photos from Trainfestival 2009 itself, along with journeys of 4449, 765, and other locomotives to/from Owosso is fine as well. Please keep the replies to either photos/videos, or comments on those photos/videos.

Here she is blowing through Meridian Township, as viewed from Central Park.

The 4449 held at Dowagiac for both Amtrak 353 westbound and then 352 eastbound. They did grease the bearings at Dowagiac at that time. I caught them in Decatur doing their 40mph limit, at 3:55PM, and then later at W. Botsford in Kalamazoo at around 4:25PM. Below are the videos I shot, and those still photos captured on film will be added in a week or two :)

Hey Michael, thanks for posting that photo - I was hoping someone would get one just of the locomotive itself and its matching water tender! Too bad they didn't park it just slightly farther to the east under the old NYC coaling tower! Great photo!

And, out of the dozens of foamers lining the road North of the coaling tower looks like I'm the first to come up with "the winning formula" on the shot: http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=291256

:D

- guess that's "cloudy, but NOT common"...

First to arrive for Trainfest!

From Gregg Pullano:
Even if 4449 and 765 weren't going to be at the festival, I would still go JUST to see this engine. DEFINITELY one of the prettiest diesels I've ever laid eyes on! These pictures DO NOT do it justice.

Nice pictures to everyone and a huge thanks to Nathan for that great video! Clouds or no, the 4449 is a beautiful engine! (And it don't sound half bad either :D )

I'm all up to date with my train videos. Couldn't catch Nickel Plate Road 765 because of work. Was able to get the Daylight on Sunday, with my folks up @ Durand.

"Lunch" turned into a half day off yesteday - but well worth it!

Despite a late start, I was able to catch 765 at Milan:

http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=291464

After that, I moved up to Ann Arbor for the "bridge shot":

http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=291465

And continued on to the North end of Osmer - notice anything silver in this one?

http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=291466

Janga didn't fail and got to see the coolest thing through Ann Arbor in who knows when and various other railroadfan.com chasers all had a good time!
