Track Work on CN in the UP
It appears that some much needed work will be done and/or is underway on the Newberry to Munising line. Tamper, tie inserter and ballast regulator tied up west of Seney.

Pulpwood loading and L-P particle board plant in Newberry. The particle board plant is one of the smallest in the country but somehow it is profitable enough to stay open.JANGAJONGA wrote:Who are the active shippers on that line? I know of the plant in Munising.
Another veneer mill west of Shingleton (railroad Evelyn but Munising mailing address) as well as several other pulpwood loading spurs.
Then the paper mill in Munising.
Last I heard train runs to Munising M & Th. Back to Newberry T & Fri. Then a Trout Lake turn on W & Sat. However, this is subject to change (may run to Munising on Sunday).
