The trail to the "monolith" is still rough and full of thorns, poison ivy, and the like. I did trim some wild rose around the area that prohibited walking to it.
I have no problem taking guided tours to both for those that want to see them.
The mosquitoes have not been bad.
I suggest wearing a good set of boots, jeans or long pants, to protect your lowers from all the scratchy stuff. If anyone wants to get water, fill a canteen, etc. let me know. My house is right by the area there and the hose flows cold well water.
Again, if you are not in good health, I would not recommend going to the "monolith." That is a more difficult hike with some steep areas, trees, tangles, and other things to step over. There is an alternate route to it, but it takes longer.
