I like the pic but what do the initials on the 2 little signs mean?

I believe D.I.B. stands for "Delay in block," which applies to Amtrak trains which stop at the station. I think it has something to do with trains calling signals when they depart, but I'm sure someone can elaborate more.

seems like delay in block wouldnt really be necessary eastbound when the signals at townline are visible. westbound is delayed in block as during the day and maybe at night the signals are not visible

Delay in block is for if you cannot see a signal from a station, at Ann Arbor both directions you cannot see the signal from the station so you might hear something like "Amtrak 355 depart Ann Arbor, delay in block" and they will have to go "restricted speed" I believe (or a safe speed to stop incase the signal is not clear so like 10-25mph) until you can see the signal indication

wonder why it is in use here eastbound Confused

assuming that they are for the dearborn amtrak station, amtraks can work the station from both mains, but normally eb trains cross over to the near track (right next to the platform) to work the station when they can I believe.
