Only GM has Hq in Detroit proper. Ford is in Dearborn. Chrysler in Auburn Hills. Nissan's main location in Farmington Hills. Toyota's in Ann Arbor. Hyundai's near Ann Arbor.

Right, I should have commented also that most of the HQ have moves. Chrysler moved from theirs, what, around early 90s or so? Thats the only one I know. They used to bye in Highland Park right ? So does FLint still get considered "Detroit" now? Seeing how you pretty much can drive from downtown Detroit to there without leaving a city limits of some kind.

I think you're close with Chrylser in the early 90's.

Yes, Chrysler moved from Highland Park...HP has not recovered and most of it looks like a war zone and I'm not exaggerating.

My POV is Flint and Detroit are considered separate are Lansing and Detroit but others may have a different take on it.

Detroit and flint are still separated by open land and economic problems have slowed building between the two but I could see there being no rural area between them someday.

Though I agree with you about Fostoria not being a great place for a railpark due to crime, I find it very rude and tacky you would say that about Ellen. She is trying to help build a park (which I don't belive will happen for a very long time) At least she is trying do do something to help us enjoy our hobbey! I've only ever been to both spots once. In the few hours I spent at Fostoria fanning and driving around I could only think: what a dump. Yeah there's a ton of trains, but the scenery sucks and the area is run down. Deshler's not exactly glamerous by comparison, but I'd rather chill with weirdo foamers than get mugged.

I kind of got that opinion of her when she was at the recent Model Train Show in Lansing, MI this past weekend.

Those people are everywhere. I once had one of the Corn City crowd, the head derf moron, tell me he knew more about the operation on the TT sub than I did. I took the time to explain what I did for a living, and had some knowledge of the terminal, he told me it didn't matter as I didn't live in the area. I guess living in an area makes one an expert on a railroad's operations, even over those who dispatch it! :roll:

Remember folks that many of us consider Deshler home and before you start calling our friends Morons you might want to think about it a bit especially the "Head Derf Moron" who does more for railfans in the area without asking anything then you can ever imagine!

The Deshler Railpark is entirely Private and not ran by public funds at all, remember that and don't use the Moron's Porta John, Wifi, or ATCS next time you are there.

Sorry if I offended you, and because of my experiance with him I have no plans to go back. :x When you argue over a crossover being needed with the a guy who dispatches the railroad, and think you know more than him because of the location of your house, I stand by my statement.

This is why I have a CCW and carry a gun just about ALL THE TIME> When threatend with a fake gun, Pull a real one.

One important thing is to keep people you dont know out of your comfort zone. Dont let people within 12 feet or more of your person. Stop them , CAN I HELP YOU!? Be blunt and direct that they do not need to come neer you.
