Your Favorite Michigan Shortline Is...
Just out of curiosity, I've wondered what everyone's favorite Michigan shortline is. I've included some of the major ones.
This is just out of liking. This is which shortline you like more, NOT which has the best derailment record, or the best track, etc.

Darn it, I voted for MMRR/GRE, but Marquette Rail is just as awesome.

I cannot help being a GLC/TSBY fan. My father lives just north of Howell at Milepost 81 and my grandmother lives just west of Cadillac at Milepost 231. I miss the days of the mid '70's when AA ran six to eight trains a day through Cadillac, along with the Michigan Northern trains on the other line that is no longer there.

Argh, it's hard Mike! If Marquette painted up their engines nice like the GR 3839 and the MMRR 24 & 3836 I might be more biased. I know the engines will be painted eventually, but how soon is eventually!? On a foggy morning 3002 and 3003 would disapear! I grew up with GRE and MMRR, too, so maybe that's why.......Mike H wrote:WHAT???? Come on John......I thought you would vote for MQT for sure!!! I am very disappointed, maybe we will have to re-evaluate that train ride we talked about.

P.S. Just kidding!!!

Now that would be cool to see every day in Clare, but the TSBY is a twice a day train railroad, usually at nite. I'm a bit of a TSBY fan, but I also like the Lake States/SBS, Huron and Eastern, and the Marquette Rail.
