Grand Elk caboose #13

Grand Elk's class N-11 transfer caboose, GDLK 13, rests on one of the former roundhouse leads at Kalamazoo's Botsford Yard. This caboose was built in October 1969 as Penn Central 18516, and retained that number through the big blue Conrail era. It was assigned to Grand Rapids, MI in the 1990s. When Grand Elk took over the Kalamazoo Secondary in spring 2009, they inherited this caboose, and painted it in their colors in 2010. July 10, 2010.
