Central Michigan GP40-2LW #9712Back when the Central Michigan truly was the Central Michigan (2001ish), a northbound train from Saginaw enters the neighborhoods of Bay City on a northbound run toward Wenona Yard. Powering this train is a matching set of CMGN power, GP40-2LW #9712 and U23B #8905. Just imagine the wailing horn echoing off the houses as it rolls through crossing after crossing.GP30M4216

Michigan Shore Z627Michigan Shore turn job Z627 takes a "restricting" indication on the mainline at Waverly for the shove move into Waverly Yard in Holland. The brakeman protects the reverse move through the turnouts, as required. Pre-2011, the late PM-era mast signal here would have shown a red-over-yellow restricting indication using C&O signal rules. With the new equipment, rules have changed to Seaboard aspects. August 19, 2015.GP30M4216

Michigan Shore GP38 #2057Mid-Michigan Railroad GP38 #2057 reverses Michigan Shore train Z627 through the plant at Waverly and into Waverly Yard. This impressive signal arrangement replaced late Pere Marquette era signal equipment at this site in 2011. Michigan Shore recently switched from a 5 day nocturnal schedule from Muskegon to Holland and return to a three day per week daylight turn schedule. 2057 is on home rails here, as in former lives it was CSXT #2106 and originally built as B&O #4806.GP30M4216
